How to lose weight without exercise

My school friends have seen me to be a plumpy girl. Now when they see me it is a shock for them. And all these have happened without gym, without any exercise; I did neither cycling nor swimming for these. Well before revealing the secrets let me give a brief description of myself. I come from a typical bengali family (ghoti or pure Indian to be specific) where sugar is an essential part of every recipe that is prepared at home, where sweets (which includes different types of sweets/ misti and misti doi or sweet curd) is an indispensable part of refrigerator. On almost every sunday the breakfast consists of oil dripped luchi, equally oily begun vaja along with alur dom and of course jalebi, rasgolla and gulab jamun, and (my favorite) rasomalai and laddu :D. Chutney and payesh will be the part of dessert throughout the year, of course the ingredients vary.
