Dating - Relationships - FWB
People say Kolkata is the “City of Love” beside being “City of Joy”. If you are a bengali then love marriage is pretty obvious- this is what the rest of India thinks. So I thought to give a broad view of Love life of an ordinary Bengali.
Let me start from the time from when it starts- school days :D. There you would see different kinds of love story. Mostly guys falling for the cutest girl of the class, or the girl sharing tiffin with the guy who seats at the adjacent desk. After going back home while doing boring homework mind drifts to the time when a smile was exchanged or when was that person stared. Then in high school days, bunking class and roaming with the special one is the “love”. Mostly the high school chemistry gets reflected in the facebook pictures and the longevity of the relation depends on the number of likes and type of comments the pictures get. Then comes the college days where it’s mostly about knowing the “geography” of the other gender and satisfying the curiosity about the so called taboo (yes a taboo it is in school days!). There starts the different kinds of matured relations prevalent in the society. The hottest one going for the topper of the class to get marks and in return topper gets favor in “kind” (FWB- friends with benefits). Or it’s about proving to the friends that even I have the ability to date the most sought after person. It hardly matters if the compatibility is there or not. Winning the trophy matters at that point of time. Then for many college goers there is a term called “enjoyment” which means dating multiple partners. These give ultimate happiness coz dating a single person or commiting to someone means end of life, end of fun. Then the continuous trial is to find out ways to tackle all the partners at the same time without getting caught. This is perhaps the best game that a college goer enjoys playing. Finally comes the professional life where things are more serious as time is less and people are eager to find a fellow traveler. There also multiple dating session happens to find the right compatibility if not the chemistry. Thanks to kindle, aisle and matrimony which provide platform for the same. And finally once happily married for few years and if this realization dawns that the partner who seemed to be perfect is no longer perfect then again dating session begins- extra marital affair.
No need to be shocked, situation is not same for all. There are successful sweet school days love stories, there are adventurous college days love stories, there are passionate romantic love stories cooking up every day around us. Just keep your eyes open and you will see a lot of them falling for one another every day. :)

Dear Readers, It's been quite sometime that I have not been able to blog. Insecurity

 Dear Readers, Have you ever felt insecure at any point of time? You must be laughing at my question thinking isn't feeling insecure the most common thing! Well it is. As a child my biggest insecurity was my gender. I always wanted to be a boy, I despised the fact that God has made me a girl. My thoughts started from the day when my father bought a bicycle for my younger brother - the cycle which I wanted to ride! When I asked my parents why I was never given a cycle, their reply was you are a girl, you are delicate, what if while cycling you fall and get bruises or if major injury happens! From that day I started noticing this issue - the issue of being a "girl". Back to Kolkata

  Dear Readers, It's been long time. I couldnt write blog as I was shifting from Mumbai. And, yes I am back to Kolkata after 5 long years! Initially, I was apprehensive about the shift because of many reasons. I was not sure if we would be getting the same facilities like those in Mumbai. Not only lifestyle and availability of things, several things are different here - medical facilities, education system, people & their thought process. But today when I see my daughter is playing happily with my parents who have so many grey hairs, wrinkled skin - I feel this shift was the need of the hour. After returning back I suddenly felt how much old my parents have grown and how much sense of security or strength they get after seeing me living close by in the same city.
